Why did you decide to play at LBW?

They gave me a full ride, and I could not pass that up — and I love their campus; it’s small. It’s perfect for me, and I know when I get there it’s going to be just like family.

How will you make an impact with your new team?

As of right now, I know I am pitcher only. So, I am going to try my best to give my best every single game.

What will you remember most about your time with the Patriots?

Playing here, my fondest memories were in my sophomore year, when I threw my perfect game. My senior year, I threw a no-hitter against Escambia (High School), and then my next outing I threw a one-hitter against Milton (High School), and that was almost back-to-back, so that was great.”

What’s a valuable lesson you learned as a Patriot?

Coach (Kevin) Ricks has helped me a lot, pitching-wise. My dad always texted me before I play. Coach (Karl) Jernigan says, ‘You are just as good as your last outing.’ Coach (Jason) McBride, he always says, ‘Play to the person you are, not who you want to be. ‘He said, ‘Pitch within yourself.’

What degree will you pursue in college?

I am either going to major in sports medicine or business, one of the two.

How will you prepare for the new team?

I just got a workout plan and a meal plan, and I’m going to work on that during the summer. Once I go up there this fall, (I’ll be) close to in shape. I need to gain at least 10 pounds.
