Wake up, America is National Day of Prayer theme

MILTON — A crowd of Santa Rosans gathered at the courthouse in Milton, Thursday, to take part in the National Day of Prayer. The theme this year was “Wake up, America.”

Evangelist Chuck Miller hosted the event where speakers included  United States Navy Chaplain Lieutenant Roy Fondren Jr, L.E.A.D. Academy Administrator Frank Lay, Santa Rosa County District 2 Commissioner Bob Cole, City of Milton Public Information Officer Pamela Holt, and more.

After the talks and prayers, attendees had the chance to sign the Call to Prayer document presented by Representative Mike Hill’s Legislative Assistant Brittany Hamel. Initiated and introduced to Congress in March 2015, Hamel said the entire executive cabinet signed it, which encourages all who sign to “pray without ceasing,” a reference to 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.
