LETTER: Honoring a Godly writer

Dear editor,

God empowered me 43 years ago to share goodies He passes by me. Not expecting to live this long, the older I get, there seems to be an urgency to do so.

Because so many loved ones, brothers and sisters in Christ, beat us to Heaven, and are going “home” daily, I’m compelled to share this goody written by Karen Ford, daughter of my prayer pal, Ida Rutledge, honoring her.

God will motivate all to consider becoming Heaven-bound in addition to those waiting for God’s final call to come home.

Karen gave me permission to share this.

And Jesus said,

"Come now girl … rise up and fly.

Leave that world behind.

Free your spirit. Loose your sod.

Rest your tired mind.

Come and rise above the clouds.

Glide where eagles soar.

Work is done. Pain has ceased.

Time will be no more.

Break away from worldly cares,

And things that held you down.

The prison door has opened.

You are heaven bound.

This is what you waited for.

It's what I promised you.

Yes, you struggled for a while …

But now your struggle's through.

Twist and swirl and swoop and turn.

Use those angel wings!

Feel the freedom. Feel the joy.

Shout and laugh and sing!

Rise up, my loved and precious child.

Your time has finally come.

Let your spirit pierce the skies.

At last … you're coming Home.
