Myrtle the Turtle, Santa Rosa's new tourism sculpture, debuts April 29

MILTON — Santa Rosa County's newest ambassador, Myrtle the Turtle, will soon be installed at the Interstate 10 Florida Welcome Center.

Featuring "Historic Milton/Navarre Beach/Florida's Playground" on her bright shell, Myrtle will greet visitors to the Sunshine State and promote tourism to her area, a news release stated. She even has her own hashtag: #MyrtleTheTurtle.

Myrtle will make her debut on Friday, April 29. Alicia Hansen, the artist who designed Myrtle, will be available 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to meet and greet visitors.
