“Imagine a post-apocalyptic world where the patriarchy has been smashed, where warring factions fight for supremacy, and where titles like king, prince, and earl belong to those in power, whether they be male or female,” a media release states.
“There are no more cars — travelers use horses again. There are plenty of guns but no more ammo — warriors use swords again. Water is a problem — clans fight to hold land near rivers. Perhaps most disastrously, the male population has been mostly wiped out, and the remaining men are young, weak or cowards.”
The Southeastern Teen Shakespeare Company’s humorous, action-packed production moves back and forth between the fight for power and the high times the prince indulges in with her worthless, drug-addicted, thieving friends.
The non-profit organization provides Escambia and Santa Rosa counties’ teens with instruction and performance opportunities.
