LETTER: Help Santa Rosa's or Escambia's Special Olympics programs

Dear editor,

Special Olympics Florida provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults with intellectual disabilities — at no cost to the athlete or their caregiver — as a means to achieve physical fitness, self-esteem and life skills necessary to be productive, respected, contributing members of their communities.

Special Olympics Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties need your help. There are opportunities to get involved as event volunteers at competitions, or a coach, and currently we have a need for volunteers who want to assist with the management team and help build and support Special Olympics Florida — Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties.

We are looking to supplement both Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties’ management teams to assist with games management, financial planning, fundraising and sport management efforts.

The county programs focus on:

●Sports competition

●Life-enhancing activities

●Participation growth

●Future investment

Santa Rosa and Escambia will add team members in these categories:

●Games management

●Sport management

●Financial

●Fundraising

●Grant writer
