SPEAK OUT: Santa Rosa residents talk courthouse, and 'flappy tongue syndrome'

Here are the latest calls we received on Santa Rosa County and Milton area issues:

ABOUT THE COURTHOUSE PROPERTY DEBATE

Yeah, this is Dee. On Theresa Messick’s downtown property, I agree with Dave. They should just go ahead and build around her property. Then she would have wished she would have taken that $59,000 while her property sits there and is worthless, just to show her.

UNEMPLOYMENT RATE — NOT SO MUCH

This is Harold, retired military. I find it quite disturbing that any one person … could believe that the unemployment is now below 5 percent. Thank you.

QUESTION ABOUT CLERK OF COURT FEES

Hi, this        is Charlie Walsingham. I would like to question why our clerk of court is trying to collect fees that are 30 years old. Why weren’t they collected by previous coin administrators?

LET THE PRESIDENT DANCE

Hi, this is Dustin calling about Mary, a concerned senior citizen. Ma’am, nearly everything you say has no basis in fact whatsoever. Just a bunch of tall tales designed to scare people…

Please do some fact checking before you repeat any nonsense you hear. And, good grief, what does it matter if the president went dancing with a woman from Argentina? Your criticism for that strikes me as wildly racist. Please get better.

IT’S THE FLAPPY TONGUE SYNDROME

This is Tony, the critic calling in reference to continual comments by a concerned senior citizen who proclaims to be a Christian. Seems to be all posts are complaints. The Bible addresses this in Ephesians 2, which also addresses the ‘flappy tongue,’ which I would call syndrome.

It seems to me, if she has no conviction about this and continues to do what the Bible preaches not to do, she has a much larger problem — and I hope she gets it settled before it’s too late.

We welcome Santa Rosa County residents’ comments on Milton, Pace and Jay area issues. Call 623-5887 to “Speak Out,” and your comment could appear in the print edition and onsrpgressgazette.com
