Santa Rosa veterans build ramp for one of their own

The Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association and Ray of Hope Ministry build a ramp for Carl and Eleanor Buskirk.

Carl Buskirk, a veteran, and his wife, Eleanor, now have easier access to their home thanks to Ray of Hope Ministry and the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association.

The two groups built a wooden ramp for the Buskirks, according to Joe “Freq” Garner, CVMA Chapter 20-3 commander.

“It was a beautiful day to build a ramp, and a beautiful ramp it was,” Garner said. He thanked Chapter 20-3 Executive Officer Bill “Redleg” Pellerin for organizing the build with Hope Ministry.

“It was challenging,” Garner said, “but we all worked hard, and together to get it done. To help make life a little better for a veteran and his wife, both 78 years old, well, is rewarding beyond words.”
