Waste disposal rates are increasing for the first time in 20 years at Santa Rosa County's Central Landfill.
New rates are as follows:
●Household waste (Class I): $36 per ton
●Class III waste: $32 per ton
●Yard waste: $22 per ton residential; $24 per ton commercial
All rates listed above have a $5 minimum charge up to 400 pounds. Mixed loads are charged household rate.
●Residential tires: $135 per ton, bulk tire drop-off; $5 each (cars, truck and smaller); $15 each (large truck and racing tires)
●Regulated waste, by permit only: $36 per ton
●Special waste (example: asbestos): $150 per ton; special permit required ($100 minimum)
●Prohibited waste separation fee: $50/hour
●Weight certification (example: trailer weights, military weights): $5 each
●Host fee for out-of-county waste: $3 per ton extra (added to regular disposal fee)
Household hazardous waste can still be dropped off for free at the Household Hazardous Waste facility near the Central Landfill’s entrance.
