THINGS TO DO: What's happening in Santa Rosa County

Plenty of activities are expected to take place at this year’s Santa Rosa County Fair, scheduled from April 1st through April 9th at the Santa Rosa County Fairgrounds.

Beginning April 1st through 9th, the Santa Rosa County Fair and Youth Livestock Show will be taking place in East Milton. In addition to having fun amusement rides, provided by James Gang Amusements, the fair is expected to surpass all previous farm animals exhibits including a first-ever market show and auction. The event will also include a fiddle contest along with other live acts on the entertainment stage.  Gulf Coast Bluegrass Music Association’s Monthly Concert

Harold and Ovaline Andrews of Mobile and  Highway Home of Milton will performing this month’s Gulf Coast Bluegrass Music Association concert. The concerts, beginning at  6 and 7 p.m. on Saturday, will take place at 4200 building in the Milton campus of the Pensacola State College. Doors open a 5 p.m. and concessions, sponsored by the Outdoor Club of PSC, will be available. The public is invited to attend, $6 for attendees and $4 for GCBMA members. Easter Outdoor Market at the Blackwater Trail Antiques & More

Alyssa’s Adopt-A-Pet Day

Alyssa’s Antique Depot, located 4586 Chumuckla Highway in Pace, will be hosting their third annual Adopt-A-Pet Day on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring several area animal rescue organizations such as Animal Allies Florida, Pensacola Humane Society, Forever Saving Animals and more. Egga-Wahooza

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos, in conjunction with Marcus Pointe Baptist Church, CMPA, Pensacola Parks & Recreation and Cat Country 98.7 are hosting Egga-Wahooza on Saturday. The event is a free Easter Egg hunt with 50,000 eggs. Children will be divided into age groups up to 5th grade and sent out at 2 p.m. Registration opens at 1 p.m. Special needs children (Sponsored by P.U.R.E. Friendship & Autism Pensacola) will begin registration at 12:30 p.m. with the egg hunt at 1 p.m.

Beach Run/Walk for America's Warriors 5K and Half Marathon

Flora-Bama is gearing up for the third annual Beach Run/Walk for American's Warriors 5K and half marathon scheduled for Saturday. Flora-Bama is donating all registration fees to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.  The foundation ensures financial aide and counseling to families of fallen heroes.  The race will be held on the beach behind the Flora-Bama, located at 17401 Perdido Key Dr. in Perdido Key  starting at 7:30 a.m. for the half marathon and 9 a.m. for the 5K run/walk.  For additional information, please contact Jenifer Surface Ivey at jenifer@florabama.com or go to www.florabama.com.

WalkAbout Brain Injury

Join Brain Injury Association of Florida and West Florida Rehabilitation Hospital on Saturday at Navarre High School, located at 8600 High School Boulevard, to honor people you know, love, or have lost to brain injury and help raise awareness and dollars for an important cause.
