Christopher Lee Cox, 35, was recently found guilty of trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia by a Santa Rosa County jury, according to a press release from State Attorney of the First Judicial Circuit Bill Eddins office.
In January of 2015, law enforcement with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Milton during an attempt to locate Cox in order to serve an outstanding warrant. Upon arrival, law enforcement located Christopher’s wife, Katherine Cox, who was smoking marijuana.
The press release from the state attorney’s office also states a methamphetamine lab with a trafficking amount of meth, along with various drug paraphernalia used to manufacture methamphetamine were located at the scene.
Katherine Cox, 34, was found guilty of possession of a controlled substance, less and 20 grams of cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A mistrial was declared on the count of trafficking in methamphetamine in the case after a jury declared a unanimous verdict could not be reached.
Christopher Cox is scheduled to be sentenced March 29 of this year and is facing a minimum mandatory sentence of 15 years and a maximum penalty of 30 years in state prison. Ketherine is scheduled for retrial on April 18, 2016 on the charge of trafficking in methamphetamine.
