Warrior Ride Tour de Sunshine – February 25 to 27

The Warrior Ride® “Tour de Sunshine” – Opening Ceremony will be Thursday, February 25 at 9:30 a.m. at the VeteransMemorialPlaza in Downtown Milton. The community ride with the combat injured service members will be Saturday February 27 with registration beginning at 8 a.m. The Start/Finish Point is at Blackwater Bistro Downtown Milton. Read Across America – March 5

In honor of Read Across America, the Santa Rosa County Library System will host a special storytime and craft at all five libraries Saturday, March 5 at 10 a.m. Volunteers from the Pensacola Little Theater will present the story at Gulf Breeze, Milton, Navarre and Pace Libraries. The story will be presented by Ms. Linda at the Jay Library. This program is free and open to the public. In consideration of all participants, programs will start promptly at the assigned times. Panhandle Community Theatre holds live performance during Riverwalk Arts Festival – March 5, 6

Celebrating PCT’s 10th anniversary, the PCT players perform “The Restaurant” by Dan Greenburg on the Blackwater Bistro Porch. The play is a short comedy about a couple who confront some unique consequences of language, dining, and romance while traveling in a foreign country. Directed by Patty Berry, the cast consist of  Danny Thomas as Norman, Bonnie Marks as Alice, and Michael Fletcher as Waiter. Showtimes are March 5 and 6 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. both days.

Panhandle Community Theatre holds auditions – March 7, 8

The Panhandle Community Theatre presents: “Life Love & Laughter,” directed by Bonnie Marks. Characters include Walt, a man in his 50s due the recommended preventative colonoscopy; Allison, a woman in her thirties who goes through a humiliating date; Bubba, an ill-informed man in his 30s with a friend named Mohammad; and more. The show calls for 8 females and 10 males. The PCT will hold auditions March 7 and 8 at 6:30 p.m. at 4646 Woodbine Road in Pace. Production dates are May 12 to 18 and May 19 to 22 at the ImogeneTheatre.  CVMA PTSD Awareness Poker Run – March 12

The Third Annual PTSD Awareness Poker Run will be held Saturday, March 12. The ride begins at Harley Davidson on Highway 29 and registration will begin at 9 a.m. For more information call 324-6829.

The Compassionate Friends – March 19

The Pensacola Chapter of The Compassionate Friends invites bereaved parents, siblings, relatives and friends to register now for our Third Annual “Walk to Remember” Saturday, March 19 at 9 a.m. The local walk will be held at Pensacola State College Track (Main Campus).  Following the event there will be brief memorial service. You do not need to be a member of The Compassionate Friends to join with us and you do not need to walk the full walk. We welcome everyone who wants to join hands and hearts in remembering all children who have died too soon. Vegetable Gardening Series for Beginners – March 1 to 15

A workshop for beginner gardeners will be held on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. beginning March 1 – 15 at the UF/IFAS Extension Santa Rosa County, 6263 Dogwood Drive, Milton. Guy Thompson Community Center

The GTCCBridge Club meets every Monday from 1 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. The club is party-style and partners are encouraged. There is no cost to play. Players are expected to learn the game of bridge on their own to improve their play. For more information contact GTCCParks and Recreation at 983-5466.
