Girls basketball: WFBA Conquerors rebound at home after tough loss on the road

After falling hard on the road to Central Christian (Robertsdale, AL), West Florida Baptist Academy Lady Conquerors rebounded twice, against Lighthouse Baptist Ambassadors (Theodore, AL) and against East Hill Christian Eagles (Pensacola). WFBA defeated Lighthouse 52 to 22, 42 to 24 and East Hill 57 to 20.

 
In their first game versus the Ambassadors, Ashtyn Kaunitz recorded 24 points and 7 offensive and defensive rebounds each. Havii Berry added 13 points, 5 steals and 6 assists. Other scorers included Alyssa Johnson (7) and Allison Whiting, Alexis Johnson and Hannah Smith, each with 2. In the second match up, Berry recorded 19 points, Kaunitz 17 and Alyssa Johnson and Maddie Whiting each with 3.
 
Versus the Eagles, the Conquerors' stingy defense spread 35 rebounds over 11 players, led by Berry and M. Whiting, tied with 7. Berry led scorers with 28 and 6 steals, Kaunitz with 9, M. Whiting had 8, Smith 6, A. Whiting 4 and Emily Hines with 2.
 
WFBA plays in the Panhandle Christian Conference East Division Regional Tournament, held at Santa Rosa Christian Academy, on Saturday, February 6th. West Florida Baptist Academy will host the Conference Final 4, boys and girls, on February 12 and 13.
