WFBA girls basketball conquer at home and away

The West Florida Baptist Academy Lady Conquerors played two basketball games in the last week, visiting Emmanuel Christian Warriors (Dothan, AL) and facing Calvary Christian Patriots of Fort Walton Beach at home. The Lady Conquerors won both games with final scores of 33-14 and 42-16 respectively.

WFBA jumped out to a 12-5 first quarter lead against the Warriors and outscored them in each of the remaining quarters 4-2, 9-4 and 8-3. Ashtyn Kaunitz led the Conquerors with 11 points and 21 rebounds. Allie Whiting recorded a personal high 8 points (3-4 from the field and 2-2 from the line) and added 2 rebounds and a steal. Other scorers were Havii Berry (5), Madison Whiting (4), Alyssa Johnson (3) and Deanna Pearson and Hannah Smith, each with 1.

The start was slow versus the Patriots, ending the 1st quarter 4-2 in favor of the Conquerors. Scoring exploded in the 2nd and 3rd however, as the Conquerors recorded 21 and 14 to Calvary's 4 and 5. Calvary outscored the Conquerors in the 4th, 5-3. Hannah Smith led the Conqueror boards with 4 offensive and 3 defensive and added 3 points and 2 steals. WFBA scoring also included: Kaunitz 18, Berry 15, Johnson 4 and A. Whiting 2.
