Shawn Thomas Stuller, 27, was sentenced on Thursday by a Santa Rosa County Circuit Judge to 20 years in state prison as a habitual felony offender.
According to the press release from the State Attorney Bill Eddins Office, Stuller entered a plea on October 5, 2015 to trafficking in Oxycodone, burglary of an occupied dwelling, petit theft and criminal mischief. The trafficking charge includes a three year minimum mandatory prison sentence.
Stuller was apprehended by deputies with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office on August 17, 2014, when he was unlawfully found inside the kitchen of a Navarre residence, according to the press release. The homeowner woke up to find Stuller and then chased him out of his home and down the road while dialing 911.
The deputies immediately found Stuller a short distance away after responding to the incident. The press release states Stuller was also wearing the homeowner’s stolen sunglasses when apprehended, deputies also recovered stolen cash and prescription medication. Based upon his significant criminal record, Stuller was sentenced as a habitual felony offender.
