Out of the 33 nominees of the Santa Rosa County public school system, the five semifinalists for the Santa Rosa Education Foundation’s ‘Teacher of the Year’ have been announced: Paula Jones of Avalon Middle School, Stephanie Duffy of Gulf Breeze High School, Lisa Player of Gulf Breeze Middle School, Sarah Thomin of Holley-Navarre Primary School and Kristen Davis of Jay Elementary School.
The SREF Teacher of the Year Selection Committee, which consists of administrators, business and community leaders, parents, and former Santa Rosa Teachers of the Year, will observe the semifinalists in their classrooms and conduct interviews before selecting three finalists.
The Santa Rosa Teacher of the Year will be announced on Thursday, January 14, 2016. Nominees will be recognized at Santa Rosa’s Golden Apple Awards celebrating all Santa Rosa teachers on February 26, 2016.
