Gulf Coast Calligraphy Guild

The Gulf Coast Calligraphy Guild will meet at the Courts of Praise Church on the corner of Johnson Ave. and North Davis Hwy. on Saturday, January 9 at 9:30 a.m. The Calligraphy Guild is made up of members of all ages who love beautiful writing and are eager to share their art with others.  Beginners or those just interested in learning more are always welcomed.  A brief meeting is followed by an instruction period at each meeting.    For more information call 994-7323.

ROWWA

The Retired Officers' Wives and Widows Association (ROWWA) will meet Thursday, January 14  at 11 a.m. at the Bonefish Grill, 5025 N 12th, Pensacola.  A program will be presented.  Membership is open to wives, widows and retired women officers of all military services.  Join us we welcome 2016.  For luncheon reservations call Mary Chase at 995-4466.  For membership information contact Molly Werner at 292-9756.

Morning Glory Circle

Morning Glory Circle will be have their monthly meeting January 14  beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Milton Garden Club located at 5256 Alabama Street. The topic will be on suitable trees including fruit trees for our area, their care, diseases and insects. The meeting is open to members and guest. If you are not a member please call Lynn at 675-6744 to confirm reservation as lunch will be served following the meeting.

Pace Area Chamber of Commerce

The Pace Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 17th Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet will be held Friday, January 8 at the LivingTruthChurch (formerly Farmers Opry House) in Chumuckla at 6 p.m. We will be awarding businesses and individuals who excelled in our community. Line Dancing

Line dancing at HobbsMiddle School begins Thursday, January 7 at 6:00 p.m. for beginners

Pensacola Numismatic Society (Coin Club)

Santa Rosa Republican Executive Committee

The Santa Rosa Republican Executive Committee, in conjunction with Escambia County Republican Executive Committee and Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) present 2 events next month. The Frederick Douglass-Booker T. Washington dinner, featuring Herman Cain as keynote speaker will take place at New World Landing at 600 S. Palafox Street, Pensacola, on January 15 at 6 p.m. The All Lives Matter Unity March January 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. will start at MartinLutherKingPlaza in Pensacola, then go on to the old courthouse, and conclude at the VeteransMemorial Park. Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation

Artists are needed to participate in the Riverwalk Arts Festival in downtown Milton on March 5 and 6 beginning at 10 a.m. Application deadline is February 15. For more information call 626-4499.

Register for lacrosse

Those interested in building a lacrosse team in Santa Rosa County need to register for PLAY (Pensacola Lacrosse Association for Youth). Even though this organization is stationed in Ensley on East Nine Mile Road it is worth the drive. Register online at Pensacolalacrosse.com, and if doing so, also register on USLacrosse.org. HelpMiltonHigh School get their lacrosse team and register for PLAY.

Color Vibe 5K Run

The Color Vibe 5K Run will be held at the Vince J. Whibbs Maritime Park Ampitheatre located at 301 W. Main Street, Pensacola beginning at 9 a.m. Registration can be completed online at www.thecolorvibe.com. This year Color Vibe will donate to the American Diabetes Association.

Santa Rosa School District

The Santa Rosa School District will hold a meeting on January 12 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Berryhill Administrative Complex Conference Room A, located at 6751 Berryhill Road.  The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the current condition and potential plans concerning the building.  The public is invited to attend and join in discussion concerning financially justified alternatives which include replacement.  Contact Joey Harrell, assistant superintendent for administrative services at 983-5123 for further information.
