The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information regarding a robbery which took place in the early Monday morning hours at the Walgreens Pharmacy in Pace, located at 3909 U.S. Highway 90.
According to the SRSO press release, the robbery occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Monday morning when deputies responded to a 911 call.
While deputies arrived after the robbery had taken place and suspects had fled the scene, witnesses told investigators a male entered the store brandishing a tire iron and wearing a backpack. Witnesses said the suspect threatened to strike the store clerk with the tire iron if they did not cooperate in giving him money.
In addition to taking an undisclosed amount of cash from the store, witnesses said the suspect also grabbed cigarettes from counter placing them inside his bag.
The suspect, described as a thin male, between 5’ 5” and 5’ 9” in height with a light complexion, was last seen leaving the store in a silver compact car, possibly a Nissan Sentra. The sheriff’s office reports a driver was waiting for the suspect in the vehicle.
Investigators believe this incident might be connected to similar robbery which occurred in Escambia County.
The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who can identify the robbery suspect is urged to contact the Santa Rosa County Crime Stoppers program at (850) 437-STOP. A reward of up to $1,000 will be offered the identity of the suspects.
