As the Navarre community continues to rapidly grow, a new luxury apartment complex aims to fill some of the community’s needs.

The Sound on Navarre Beach, which is actually off of Navarre Parkway with views of the Gulf of Mexico and Santa Rosa Sound, is a 250-unit complex featuring one, two and three bedroom apartments starting at $1,085 for a one-bedroom, $1,370 for two-bedroom and $1,600 for three-bedroom.

“It’s been about five years in bringing this together,” said Betty Fountain, owner of Reality Associates of Santa Rosa, Inc.

Betty and her husband, Greg, own the land where the complex is located. Originally, they had planned to developed an assisted living facility, but after conducting market studies and research, found the more immediate need was rental units. And not just rentals, but high-end options.

“Our community has been constructed in a highly sought after area of Navarre, within a top-rated school district, and conveniently located near both Destin and Pensacola,” said Laura Tate, regional property manager for Greystar, the project’s management company in an email statement.
