Pen Air Federal Credit Union won first place in the 2015 Desjardin Youth Financial Education Award for their financial education efforts in the community such as their student-run high school financial academies, work with Junior Achievement, and in particular, partnership with the University of West Florida Financial (UWF) Boot Camp Series.
The Credit Union National Association’s Desjardins program is a Credit Union Industry award that recognizes credit union efforts that teach personal finance concepts and skills to members and nonmembers. This award looks to honor those within the credit union movement who provide financial literacy programs that are compelling, relevant, innovative, and organized. There are state level winners that move on to compete on the national level. Since Pen Air FCU won first place on the state level, it will move on to the national level for further award consideration.
