The following activities are scheduled to occur the week of October 19 – October 23 at the Guy Thompson Community Center. All activities are free and open to the public unless a fee is indicated.
Monday – October 19
8:30 a.m. – Senior tennis lessons at O.K. Matthews Tennis Complex and learn tennis from our tennis instructor Rick Cuny. Class is $5.
9 a.m. – Cards and games for seniors. Come out and enjoy games and refreshments at the MiltonCommunity Center.
10 a.m. – Line Dancing: Kick up your heels and learn a few dance steps in the Milton Community Center Gym. Class is $5.
Tuesday – October 20
8:30 a.m. to noon – Pickleball: come play a game similar to tennis, but not on nearly as big of a court and not nearly as fast. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and you are welcome to come out and give it a try. FREE
1 p.m. – Senior Movie Matinee. Enjoy a movie at the GuyThompsonCommunity Center. Every Tuesday at 1 p.m. a movie will be shown for your entertainment pleasure. FREE
9 a.m. – Yoga with Angela: An enjoyable exercise class for all skill levels. A relaxing and beneficial hour. Class is $5.
1 p.m. – Senior Tuesday Matinee: it is movie time at the GuyThompsonCommunity Center. We will show a movie, either a class or current movie so come on out and make some new friends while enjoying a free movie. Concessions of popcorn and soda will be available for a nominal fee.
6 p.m. – Yoga with Trudy: An enjoyable exercise class for all skill levels. A relaxing and beneficial hour. Class is $5.
Wednesday – October 21
9 a.m. to noon – Artist gathering: If you paint, draw or sketch you are invited to the MiltonCommunity Center to practice your art among other artist in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. FREE
10 a.m. – Pickleball: come play a game similar to tennis, but not on nearly as big of a court and not nearly as fast. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and you are welcome to come out and give it a try. FREE
6 p.m. – Yoga with Trudy: An enjoyable exercise class for all skill levels. A relaxing and beneficial hour. Class is $5.
Thursday – October 22
8:30 a.m. to noon – Pickleball: come play a game similar to tennis, but not on nearly as big of a court and not nearly as fast. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and you are welcome to come out and give it a try. FREE
1 to 3 p.m. – Bingo at the GuyThompsonCommunity Center. Come and spend an entertaining afternoon playing bingo. There is a wide variety of prizes available and refreshments as well. Your first bingo card is free and each additional card is $1.
6 p.m. – Panhandle Writers Group Meeting: Meet with area writers to critique and offer opinions on written works such as short stories, poems, and parts of books. FREE
Friday – October 23
8:30 a.m. to noon – Pickleball: come play a game similar to tennis, but not on nearly as big of a court and not nearly as fast. This day is for those who want to come out for a fun recreational time and learn the basics of the game as well as the rules. Experience players are welcomed to come and play as well as space permits. Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and you are welcome to come out and give it a try. FREE
9 a.m. – Yoga with Angela: An enjoyable exercise class for all skill levels. A relaxing and beneficial hour. Class is $5.
10:30 a.m. – Adult Chair Aerobics/Yoga: This is an adaptive exercise class where all activities will be done by sitting or holding onto a chair. This class is great for people with physical issues such as weight, illness, chronic pain, as well as limited flexibility or mobility. Class is $5
noon – Cards and games for seniors. Come out and enjoy games and refreshments at the MiltonCommunity Center. This is a free activity. FREE
7 – 9 p.m. – Bands on the Blackwater: Bands on the Blackwater this week will feature the sounds of Still Standing. Still Standing is a Elton John tribute band that performs all across the GulfCoast area. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the Bands on the Blackwater Fall Season. FREE
