PSC presents 'Young Frankenstein'

Get ready for Transylvania mania as Pensacola State College Performing Arts students present “The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein” on Oct. 23-25 and Oct. 30-Nov. 1. Show times are 7:30 p.m. for Friday and Saturday performances and 2:30 p.m. for Sunday matinees at the Ashmore Fine Arts Auditorium, Building 8, on the Pensacola campus, 1000 College Blvd.

With script, music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, “Young Frankenstein” features hilarious show tunes while it parodies the horror film genre, especially Hollywood’s 1930s adaptations of Mary Shelley's “Frankenstein.”

As grandson of the infamous Dr. Frankenstein, Frederick Frankenstein inherits his family's estate in Transylvania. Help and hindrance from a hunchbacked side-kick, a leggy lab assistant, and a needy fiancée spur Frederick to fill the mad scientist shoes of his ancestors and bring merriment to life.

Ticket prices are $16, reserved seating; $9, seniors 60-plus, children and non-PSC students; $7, PSC staff/faculty/retirees and PSC Seniors Club members; free, PSC students.
