Dan Brown talks about Gulf Islands National Seashore at Sunrise Kiwanis

Dan Brown, superintendent of Gulf Islands National Seashore shown on the right, received the Milton Pride tag holder from Santa Rosa Sunrise Kiwanis Board Member Jim Martin. Brown said the National Seashores, along the Gulf Coast, receives over 5 million visitors per year.  According to Brown,  more than the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone. He said the seashore was voted Florida's number one best beach.  He told of the process of protecting the approximate 5,000 baby turtle hatchlings that come to our shore and how it is manned almost entirely by volunteers.   He spoke of the years long process to begin a ferry service for Ft.Pickens.  Santa Rosa Sunrise Kiwanis welcomes all to their Wednesday morning 7 a.m. meeting held at Tanglewood Golf Course where breakfast is served.
