The Florida Department of Health in Santa Rosa County (DOH-Santa Rosa) and SAFER Santa Rosa (Strategic Alliance for Emergency Readiness) are partnering to host the First Annual SAFER 5K Run/Walk, Saturday, September 26, at the Blackwater Heritage Trail on Highway 90 in Milton. The event is in observance of World Health Day and supports the Department’s Healthiest Weight initiative. The event is smoke-free and family friendly.
Participants may preregister Thursday and Friday, September 24 and 25, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at DOH-Santa Rosa, 5527 Stewart Street, or register the morning of the event from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the Blackwater Trail behind SunTrust Bank. The registration fee is $20 for those 12 years of age and over and $10 for those under 12. The first 100 participants will receive t-shirts and all participants will receive race bags, water bottles and other items. Awards will be given in all age categories. The race will continue rain or shine.
