DragonflyArtGallery is offering Fundamentals of Drawing class by Laura Keith King.
These classes build, practice and review fundamental drawing skills. Students will learn basic methods of shading and controlling tones, and learn about attributes of lines, gray scales, vanishing edges, negative space, perspective, and composition. We will learn to see with an artist's eye, capture what we see on paper, and learn methods to improve accuracy. A variety of drawing media will be introduced and explored.
The class is a series of four sessions, each 90 to 120 minutes long. The classes are best for students aged 14 to adult; but gifted and/or mature students who are younger may be enrolled with permission from the instructor. Class size is small to ensure individualized instruction, and early registration is recommended to avoid disappointment in case the class is full.
Classes will be held at the Dragonfly Gallery classroom on four consecutive Thursday evenings, October 15th, 22nd, 29th, and Nov. 5th, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 or 9 p.m. The fee for the series is $65 for the general public; $58.50 (10 percent off) for Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation members.
