The newly formed North American Poolplayers Association (NAPA) announced the forming of two leagues, the first of their kind in Santa RosaCounty: the NAPA Seniors in House Pool League and the NAPA Youth Pool League. According to Cynde Watson, one of four NAPA owners along with Larry Watson, Arthur Frazier, and Rose Frazier, these will be the first leagues in the county catering to their respective age groups.
Both leagues will play at OopsAlleyFamilyEntertainmentCenter in Pace. Watson said, due to many still getting in trips before the end of summer, the league will start September 10 at 12:30 p.m. The league will accept players 50 years old and up. She said she’s holding the senior league during the day since many interested players didn’t like driving at night. The senior cost is $8 per week and half the cost of the table, 50 cents if the table costs a dollar.
The youth league is for children 10 to 18 years old. The league starts September 20 at 2 p.m. with a Freebie Day, sign up and warm up, September 13 at 2 p.m. as well to “see what it’s about and shoot a game,” Watsons aid. The youth league will have coaches available for novices and intermediate players to teach basics and hone skills. The youth league has no annual fee, but costs $5 per week and half the table fee. There is no annual fee for either league.
For more information on either league, contact the Watsons at 485-4040 or the Fraziers at 206-4941.
