Speak Out August 15

Hello, my comment is to the critic that trashed people leaving Christian media in public places. Question: how can a deaf person hear or proclaim the Gospel? Use the printed page. Go into all the world an preach the Gospel. That includes bathrooms. Can you sign or answer a deaf person’s question? Tony, look up. There’s a lot more world out here.

This is Marie. Here it is, 9 a.m. in the morning, and the air is filled with the smoke of someone burning their garbage again. With all the problems in the world of pollution apparently it doesn’t concern Santa RosaCounty. No laws are ever enforced about the constant pollution from the smoke. Thank you.

This is Tony in response to George in Pace. Would you please let me know where I said the Gospel is to be a secret? I think you need to reread what I said and pay attention and I do not take advice from religious lifers. Thank you.

Hi, this is James. I sure miss Walter Williams on the editorial page. The gentlemen you’ve been featuring are lightweights.

Hi, this is Mary. I just wanted to respond. Actually, it’s a question. This is to letters from Mariann who talked about the possum running away to get into the chicken house. I’ve never heard that before and I was just wondering where is the rest of the story on that. Also, that same article down below, it had a response from Annie talking about the Sabbath. Yes, the Sabbath is God’s day but God chose the seventh day as His holy day, so that would be Saturday. Thank you so much. Have a good day.

Hi, this is Judy Shiver  and on behalf of Chapter 566 Military Order of the Purple Heart, we want to thank the City of Milton for their outstanding support to not only combat-wounded veterans but to all veterans. The proclamation for the month of August to be a Purple Heart city. The city signs along Caroline Street and the signs  entering the City of Milton are all just beautiful. Thank you for your support. It is really appreciated. Thank you, bye.

Hi, this is Robis. Our Santa RosaCounty Commissioners want us to believe our property taxes have not been increased for years and they don’t have enough funds. Not true. Every year they increase property values, residential and commercial. They also have new homes and new businesses built every year. This is increased taxes. Do they think taxpayers are stupid? I think they do. Most people pay their taxes on their same wages. We have to budget our incomes and so should they. Thank you.

Chrys here. Why aren’t you handling Walter Williams column anymore? He is a wonderful editorialist. Unfortunately, I read him on the News Journal but I think he was an asset for the Santa Rosa Press Gazette and I wish you would install him. Why did you cut him out? Thank you.

This is Amy. The papers have been replete with news about what one side feels about the confederate flag. Well, there’s another side to that story. Some of us feel the exact opposite. We know that’s a part of our history. We know that other  countries that are represented by flags have exercised slavery in the past. It has nothing to do with our present day feelings or culture and we are not at quarrel about the confusion and the distrust and the racial issues that are stirred up by the constant, can’t be satisfied of one side of that issue. And there’s another side, and I would like it to be heard. We want the confederate flag to fly. Thank you.

Editor’s note: The paper is no longer carrying Walter William’s column. We apologize for the inconvenience.
