The Florida sales tax holiday for school supplies will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Aug. 7 and continue though 11:15 p.m. Aug. 16.
"No sales tax will be collected on clothing, footwear and certain accessories selling for $100 or less per item; certain school supplies selling for $15 or less per item; and personal computers and certain computer related accessories on the first $750 of the sales price, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use," the Florida Department of Revenue said.
This doesn't apply to:
•An item of clothing costing more than $100
•A school supply item costing more than $15
•Books not otherwise exempt
•Rentals or leases for items
•Repairs or alterations of items
•Sales of school, clothing or computer items sold in theme parks, entertainment complexes, public lodging establishments or airports
