The Editorial Department of SRPG decided to find the best cup of coffee in the Pace area. The parameters consisted of businesses where coffee was an important part of their repertoire; it couldn't be a chain restaurant, and the boundaries were from Rise and Roll on Highway 90 to Woodbine Road. For all of the Wide Awake Cafe fans, that shop will be graded with the Milton coffee list coming later in the fall. Reporter Matthew Brown, Reporter Aaron Little and Editor Pamela Holt make a motley crew of coffee critics. Matthew only began drinking the dark bean juice when he began covering Santa Rosa County for SRPG last November. He said he's learned a lot over the past week about what makes a decent cup of joe. Aaron has a thing for lattes and could not be persuaded to pay for a regular cup of coffee instead of the fancy-smansy, foamy concoction. Pamela has the lion's share of experience being she's consumed all sorts of coffee, brewing techniques, and styles of the popular drink over a long period of time.
The scores:
Drowsy Poet- 11.5
