Back to School blood drives at Wal-Mart

Since part of a good education is learning to give, select Wal-Mart stores are hosting “Back To School' blood drives.   Donors can help stock local hospital shelves with lifesaving blood and enjoy a $10 Wal-Mart Gift Card to stock up on school supplies.

On August 1 – 3 The Big Red Bus will be at various Wal-Mart locations. Appointments will be honored and walk-ins are welcome.

  All donors will also receive a wellness check-up of blood pressure, pulse, temperature and iron count, including a cholesterol screening. Generally healthy people age 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Photo ID is required.   The summer months are a time of increased need for blood donations.  School is out, families are traveling and the heat is on, all of which impact our local blood supply.
