Americans should take back their power

For some 100 plus years our public education has dumbed-down and indoctrinated students, primarily in the disciplines of unrevised American History and Civics. Add to that the full blown trashing of the very principles, values and morals our nation was founded upon. If you are lost or laughing at these statements, you are part of the problem. Recently, Judge Kathryn Barber, (Ohio) laughed at the defendant when he claimed his public protest constituted free speech. At that point the prosecutor said mentioning the Constitution during the trial would ‘confuse the jury.’

The prosecutor was likely correct. A majority of Americans have absolutely no clue what the Constitution is all about. An ABC poll in 2011 showed 70 percent could not identify the Supreme Law of the Land.

Republican leadership in Congress claims they cannot stop the Obama administration’s unconstitutional over-reach. Why not?

In plain English, the Constitution, in numerous references, gives Congress full authority to override, undo, and/or defund all usurpations by the Executive branch.

According to the Constitution, article II, the president has no power except the veto and it can be overridden by Congress. The president is not the supreme ruler. Congress and the people have this power. The title ‘supreme’ on the high court does not give it supreme power and authority. The word ‘supreme’ means nothing more than it is the highest court. It can be overridden by Congress. A careful reading of the Constitution clearly states so. The real reform we need today is a revival based on God’s call to righteousness, 2 Chronicles 7:14.
