Disaster Preparedness Expo will be held June 20, 2015 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Woodbine United Methodist Church, 5200 Woodbine Rd, Pace. Presenters, Mark and Lisa Williams founded Mississippi Preparedness Project in 2008 after Hurricane Katrina. Mark and Lisa realized they were woefully under supplied with material needs and also those around them were also of the same situation. At that point they made a commitment to never, ever be in that position again. The Williams set out to find others who were focused on being prepared for worse case events, such as Katrina. This meant preparing for both natural and manmade disasters.
Woodbine United Methodist knows the need to be prepared, and is hosting this event. The workshop will cover all types of disasters including hurricanes, fire, flood, terrorism, electrical grid shutdown and more.
