Boo Weekley won the money to donate through the Crowne Plaza hotel’s #AlwaysOnCharityChallenge contest.

A consummate supporter of the Santa Rosa Kids’ House, local golf legend Boo Weekley chose the organization as the recipient of his #AlwaysOnCharityChallenge award. Friday, Weekley was unable to attend the SRKH 8th annual charity golf tournament at Stonebrook Golf Club, but there his wife, Karyn Weekley, presented a check for the contest in the amount of $10,000.

Santa Rosa Kids’ House is a not-for-profit organization that investigates, prosecutes, and treats child abuse in Santa Rosa County. By providing services to children in a comfortable and safe environment, Santa Rosa Kids’ House provides the resources to “Help Stop the Hurt”. Keith-Ann Campbell is the executive director of the organization. She said Weekley has always been a supporter of the SRKH and has always attended the tournaments since they began, missing this one to be at the Crowne Plaza as part of the contest.

From May 18 to 24, the Crowne Plaza invited PGA Tour fans to  vote for one of nine players they “think will be Always On at this year’s Crowne Plaza Invitational” according to the Crowne Plaza chairty’s website. Fans did so by using Twitter and posting a hashtag phrase unique to each player, e.g. #WeekleyAlwaysOnSweeps. As Boo Weekley received the most votes, he won the contest and the chance to donate $10,000.
