Summer Reading Program through July 17

Come to any of the five Santa Rosa County Libraries in Gulf Breeze, Jay, Milton, Navarre and Pace for a fun program! Read for 15 minutes per day between June 1 and July 17 for great prizes. You may register online beginning May 29. Pick up a reading calendar at your library or print one online from the program registration page. Bring your completed reading calendar to your library's last program or through July 31 to claim your prizes!

Programs for students who were in kindergarten through the 5th grades during the last school year will be held from June 8 to July 15:

• 1 p.m. on Mondays – NEW DAY – at the Navarre Library

• 1 p.m. on Tuesdays – NEW DAY AND TIME – at the Jay Library

• 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Pace Library

• 1 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library

• 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library

All activities are free and open to the public.  Registration for programs is not required. In consideration of all participants, programs will start promptly at the assigned times. Please check the library website for details at www.santarosa.fl.gov/libraries.

Storytime

Santa Rosa County Libraries provide storytime for 3 to 5 year olds who are able to attend without a caregiver during the following times from June 8 to July 17:

• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Mondays at the Jay Library

• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at the Navarre Library

• 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Milton Library

• 11:15 – 11:45 a.m. on Wednesdays at the Gulf Breeze Library

• 11 – 11:30 a.m. on Fridays at the Pace Library

Genealogy Research Assistance – Milton Library

Mondays 9 a.m. – noon

On Mondays from 9 a.m. – noon library volunteers are available at the Milton Library located at 5541 Alabama St., to provide general genealogy research guidance, one-on-one assistance in using online and print genealogy resources for family researchers, and assistance in filling out ancestral charts and family group records. Beginners and seasoned researchers are invited to use these services. To ensure a volunteer is available to assist you, please call before you visit.

Hopeful Hearts- Navarre Library

Fridays, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

A series of meetings for "Hopeful Hearts," a bereavement support group, will be held at the Navarre Library on Fridays from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The weekly sessions will address grief support and offer assistance, love and listening ears to those grieving over the loss of a loved one. All materials will be provided and no reservation is required. There is no charge to participate. The programs are held at the Navarre Library located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.

Splash Into Safety – Pace Library

June 2, 1 p.m.

Chris Verlinde from the University of Florida Extension Office will discuss summertime safety, water creatures, and weather via a fun, informative, and interactive presentation. Refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Pace Library. The Pace Library is located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. in Pace.

Friends of the Navarre Library Board Meeting – June 8, 10:15 a.m.

Board meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at 10:15 a.m. at the Navarre Library. The Navarre Library is located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre. Please see the Friends website at www.friendsofnavarrelibrary.org for more information.

Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library Board of Director’s Meeting – June 9, 5 p.m.

Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Gulf Breeze Library. The Gulf Breeze Library is located at 1060 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze. Please see the Friends website www.facebook.com/friendsofgblibrary for more information.

Page Turners Book Club – Gulf Breeze Library

June 12, 10:30 a.m.

Join us in the Gulf Breeze Library study room for our fiction book club. Page Turners meets at 10:30 a.m. on the second Friday of every other month. For this month's meeting, participants will choose a book written by Martha Grimes and discuss her as an author. There is a limit of 20 participants, so please call the library or drop by to sign up! The Gulf Breeze Library is located at1060 Shoreline Dr. in Gulf Breeze.

READ Dogs – Pace Library

June 13, 9:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Come, Sit, Stay & R.E.A.D. with a furry friend in the Pace Library on June 13, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration is required. The program is held on the second Saturday of each month at the Pace Library located at 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. in Pace. Contact the Pace Library for more information or to sign up.

Meet the Author Brown Bag Lunch – Gulf Breeze

June 16, 12:30 p.m.

Women’s Wisdom-Nature: How To Support Yourself and Others

Meet, Kathleen Logan, author of “Second Blooming for Women: Growing a Life That Matters After Fifty” as she discusses issues every woman faces. Bring your brown bag lunch to the Gulf Breeze Library and the Friends of the Gulf Breeze Library will supply dessert and coffee. No sign up is required. The program is free and open to the public. Mrs. Logan will have books available for purchase and autographs. The Gulf Breeze Library is located at 1060 Shoreline Drive in Gulf Breeze Florida.

Hospice Hour – Navarre Library

June 24, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

A series of hospice programs will be presented at the Navarre Library on the fourth Wednesday of each month. Shannon Snowden, R.N. and Karen Englert, both of Emerald Coast Hospice, will explain how hospice services work, what types of services including home health care are provided, and when hospice services might be beneficial. The program will be held in the Navarre Library Meeting Room, located at 8484 James M. Harvell Rd. in Navarre.
