Jason Robinson discusses fire safety with Sunrise Kiwanis

Fire Safety Consultant Jason Robinson, shown on the right after receiving the Milton Pride tag holder from Sunrise Kiwanis President John Stone, shared fire safety with Sunrise Kiwanis this week. Robinson said the old rule was to drop to the floor and crawl, but the new rule is to get out as fast as you can without taking anything with you. This new rule was made because of toxic fumes. Also, the "sweet spot" for oxygen, he says, is door knob high.  Door knob high is something that has to be shown to children by their parents.  Do this, Robinson said, while explaining escape plans, a few times a year, because their height changes so rapidly.  FEMA says that asphyxiation from the gasses at the floor level is the number one killer in home fires.  Sunrise Kiwanis welcomes all to their Wednesday 7 a.m. breakfast meeting at Tanglewood Golf Course where breakfast is served.
