Sheriff’s Office: Detectives seek customers in homicide investigation

Major Crimes Detectives with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office have been working the homicide investigation of Stephen Richmond Rice. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit of the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office seek the community’s assistance in solving an open homicide investigation of a Milton man. According to a press release from SRSO, investigators want to speak with any customers of Stephen Richmond Rice, who was found deceased at his Persimmon Hollow Road home in late March.

 Rice operated a business via the internet and person to person sales. Investigators wish to speak with customers who may have purchased items from Rice or may have sold items to him. Authorities hope his customers can provide important information in this case. Detectives are not looking at his transactions as they are not in question, the press release states.

Rice, 43, is described as a white male with grey hair and hazel eyes, weighing 312 lbs. Rice lived in both Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties, according to the press release.
