Speak Out April 29

Thursday 10:36 a.m.

Yes this is Bill, I am calling about the people complaining about Berryhill being in such bad shape. They need to read the letter by David Holt in the Press Gazette in the ‘Letter to the Editor.’ If they want to have some good roads, they need to find out where the tax money is being spent. Either that or I have a bicycle or running shoes, evidentially they care more about bike paths and walking areas or walking trails.

Thursday 5:09 p.m.

This is Bill. I am calling to say that taxman Mr. Don Salter is at it again. I see that he wants $30 million dollars for his part of the county again to put in bike trails other things that really don’t help out all of the people in Santa Rosa County. If you look at all for the hundreds of thousands of dollars he has spent on five points, by moving one road less than 100 yards to the north and adding a red light that’s to help out traffic. Everybody knows a red light slows down traffic. Then Mr. Avis Whitfield has been together in running our road and stuff for the past 10 years. It just happened that a few months ago, the rest of the commissioners decided that what they were doing wasn’t totally right so they changed the procedure.

Thursday 5:50 p.m.

It’s been two years and our teachers still have not received a raise, it’s been three or four years and they still have not received a raise. A plumber can receive $3,700 a raise with one year experience in 2012 and 2013. A first year teacher has not received a raise. The average salary of a school district plumber is $43,000. The average salary for a Santa Rosa County school teacher with a Bachelor’s degree is $42,000. I am not saying that a plumber is less than a teacher, but teachers are what make the school system great. It’s not the school system administration. The teachers need a raise. The school system can afford a raise. Its well deserved. Thank you.

Friday 8:12 a.m.

Yes, this is Tony calling in response to Mary, concerned about kingdoms divided against themselves cannot stand. I just wanted to say that kingdoms have been divided against themselves for hundreds of years and they still stand and seems to be that the main reason that get divided against  themselves is due to religion. I don’t think that will ever change and yet the kingdom still survives. Thanks, bye.

Friday 12:29 p.m.

I don’t know if there are any people who feel the way I do and this pertains to the Press Gazette. I do not appreciate, I do not like my paper being throwed on the ground. I would rather have it in my mailbox and not only that but the Press Gazette just does not have any more. You need to get some more editors. There is just not enough information in the paper anymore. A lot of advertisements. We would like to hear about what is going on here in Milton. Not necessarily what is going on in Pensacola, Crestview or Fort Walton. There is a lot going on in Milton that the Press Gazette does not put in there. I’m sure I am not the only one. Again I do not like having my paper threw on the ground, I’d rather have it in the mailbox and we really need more information put in that paper and I think more people would keep their subscriptions. Thank you and have a great day.
