The City of Milton has a new human resources manager. Milton native Heather Adams began her new position March 5. Adams said she is happy to be working in such a positive environment and no longer having a long daily commute. “I’m excited about making a difference in the city,” said Adams.
Adams follows in the footsteps of Chiquita Abney who held the position for two years. City Planner Randy Jorgenson said Adams was part of a large pool of applicants. “She’s young, intelligent and a breath of fresh air.”
Adams said she is most looking forward to volunteering at the Guy Thompson Community Center and working with youth activities. “I think children who aren’t active after school are just sitting ducks for trouble. It’s good for them to have something to do,” she said.
City Manager Brian Watkins said he thinks Adams will be a good addition for the city.
