Update: SRSO investigating unconfirmed threat at Navarre High

Update: According to a 10:30 a.m. SRSO press release rumors of a gun on campus are unfounded. Administration advises school is still in session and the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office will maintain a presence at Navarre High School as long as necessary. SRSO PIO Rich Aloy said the threat received is being thoroughly investigated and he is on the Navarre High School campus at this time.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office issued a press release this morning about an unconfirmed threat to Navarre High School. Public Information Officer Rich Aloy said at this time there have been no indications of credibility to this threat. He said SRSO and school administration have partnered to provide additional attention to this matter. Aloy said the threat is currently being investigated but remains unconfirmed at this time. A threat to a school facility is a felony. The perpetrator of this incident will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. 

School officials advised the testing which is currently underway at Navarre high school will continue as planned.
