Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office reports on Saturday at approximately 7:30 a.m., a 911 call requested assistance in reference to a dog bite at the 9300 block in American Farms. At the time of the call, reports said SRSO was told a dog had attacked several occupants of the residence. Reports said the dog bit 4 residents and 3 were sent to area hospitals, one victim was sent by helicopter.
According to reports, it was determined through witness statements a domestic argument occurred at the residence and the animal became irate due to shouting at the home. Deputies report a resident attempted to put the dog outside, the dog bit the first victim. A short time later, a resident let the dog back into the home and again bit a resident. The dog was again placed outside.
Reports said when a resident let the dog back into the home, and the dog once again began biting residents. At this point, reports said witnesses state the dog was cornered and stabbed and the animal died on scene.
At this time, the condition of the residents is unknown. Santa Rosa county Animal Control responded to the scene and took the dog from the residence. The exact type of dog is unknown.
