Updated: Pace Fire Rescue District to raise money with annual ‘Picture Fund Drive’

Update:

Kay Brown Photography in Pace will be assisting the Pace Rescue Fire District with the 'Picture Fund Drive' fundraiser, instead of the previously mentioned Flash Portrait Studios in Pensacola. Also, those who donate only have three months to schedule a portrait session with the studio, instead of the previously mentioned six months. For more information, contact the fire district at 994-6884.

The Pace Rescue Fire District is seeking the community’s support with their annual ‘Picture Fund Drive.’ All of the funds collected will benefit Pace area businesses and families who are displaced due to fire, said Pat Wadkins, the department’s administrative assistant.

“We have been doing this for about the past 25 years,” Wadkins said. “This is the only fundraiser we do all year.”

Wadkins said the funds collected will benefit the department’s benevolent fund.  Personnel from the fire district will use the funds to purchase needed items for displaced individuals. Wadkins said the department will purchase the item’s themselves  to make sure the funds are appropriately used.

For example, if a family is displaced by fire, Wadkins said funds would be used to purchased appropriately-sized clothing for the children or needed hygiene products for the family.

A marketing company − who is assisting the district with the fundraiser − will be visiting residents on a door-to-door basis within the fire districtÂ’s coverage area starting February 1st through August 1st.  For $40 a resident can get one free portrait taken at Flash Portrait Studios in Pensacola.

Upon making the donation, the recipient will have six months to schedule the free portrait session, Wadkins said.

For more information on the fundraiser, contact Wadkins or any Pace Fire Rescue District personnel at 994-6884. The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
