Pace school seeks votes in receiving $10K grand prize

Debbie Lewis, the school technologist at S.S. Dixon Primary in Pace, is seeking the community’s support in receiving enough votes in order to win a $10,000 award for the school.

Out of hundreds of submissions in the country, S.S. Dixon Primary is one of 10 finalists in the Great American Insurance Group’s ‘Great American School Spectacular.’ For the seventh consecutive year, the insurance group is rewarding three teachers and their schools to help “revitalize three deserving classrooms,” according to a press release from the insurance group.

The schools with the most votes will be selected as the prize winners. The winners will be announced on the week of February 2. In addition to the  $10,000 grand prize, a second place prize of $5,000 and a third place prize of $2,000 will also be awarded.

Lewis is seeking the community’s  votes in order to “help create a collaborative instruction lab with state-of-the-art technology for students to be engaged learners,” the press release said.

Voting is currently underway and will end on January 30. Residents can assist Lewis and the school by voting once daily on every internet accessible device at www.GASchoolSpectacular.com.  Online voting is also available on the Santa Rosa County school district website at www.santarosa.k12.fl.us.
