Speak Out January 10

Monday 6:32 a.m.

Yeah this is Bobby. It’s Monday morning the day my garbage service to be picked up. I have no cans, none even close to my house.

Monday 6 :34 a.m.

Yeah, this is Bobby. I just called and got cut off so I’m not sure if you got my comment or not. It’s Monday morning and my garbage was supposed to start today. They said I’d have a can by yesterday. There are no cans in this area. You can’t pile it out by the road like they were saying because bears get it. I just figured the county, they must have watched the Obama medical roll out to get this screwed up. Maybe I’ll have garbage next week. Thank you.

This is Mary, a concerned senior citizen. I just wonder if the people that seem so happy from this big garbage company from Pensacola and were forced to take it, do they realize how many small business people that it put out of business, small trash collectors, that were faithful and were always there on time, and never left the trash out for the wild animals and the dogs for the creatures to tear up. Do they realize that because they don’t have a job any more now. Thank you.

Tuesday 11:43 a.m.

This is Wallace and I want to thank our country commissioners for the new garbage service. At one time there were four trucks picking up garbage that was 8 trucks per week, what a waste of fuel and destroying the streets not counting all that noise we had to listen to twice a week. Thank you.

Wednesday 12:41 p.m.

This is Patsy and I’d like to say that we are all benefitting from this new garbage pickup. These people who are complaining about the new garbage pick up are either crazy or rich. THE county folks have been paying $85 a month to pick up once a week. This is the first time I’ve seen the county commissioners do something good that helps everybody. Its helps everybody but especially the elderly who are not able to haul their trash off to Milton or Jay. I never thought I’d say it but thank you county commissioners.

Wednesday 1:26 p.m.

Yeah, I’m getting tired of all this belly aching about ECUA. We’ve lived way up in the north end of the county, McClelland, and my garbage rate was $116 for the last quarter and now the county’s dropping me to $51 so I’m happy, and the pickup has been great so thank you.
