A Jay man was arrested Thursday for sexual battery on a victim under 12 years of age and lewd and lascivious behavior on a victim less than 12 years old. Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office reports Melvin Terrell Peterson, 59, allegedly molested and committed sexual battery on a minor with whom he had a relationship. Reports said one incident took place in September of this year. Peterson was taken into custody December 11 and held on $50,000 bond at Santa Rosa County Jail. He was released December 12.
