Robinson sentenced to 20 years for robbery with weapon

State Attorney Bill Eddins announced December 9 that Dominique Robinson was sentenced by Judge John Miller to 20 years in state prison. Robinson was sentenced to this term on one count of robbery with a weapon. He entered a plea stright to the court on this charge on May 21, 2014. 

According to the State Attorney's Office, Robinson entered the Tom Thumb store on Highway 87, Holley, on September 18, 2012, with a co-defendant London Smith. Robinson held a knife to the store clerk and demanded she give him money from the cash register while Smith stole tobacco products.  Reports said after fleeing the scene, numerous articles of clothing were found alonside Highway 87 which matched the clothing worn by the two suspects. Later, reports said DNA testing revealed Robinson was the individual who used the knife during the robbery. The co-defendant Smith was arrested earlier this year and his case is still pending, said Sate Attorney's Office in a press release. 

Assistant State Attorney Zachary Brost prosecuted the case.
