East Milton mobile home unoccupied in early morning fire

Officials report no one was inside an East Milton mobile home when it was ‘fully-involved’ in fire earlier this morning.

First response crews from the East Milton, Harold, Skyline fire departments, the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and Lifeguard Ambulance Service responded to the residence on Woodland Lane. First responders were notified about the fire shortly after 8 a.m. Upon their arrival to the scene at 8:13 a.m. the fire was “fully-involved,” a press release from the Santa Rosa County public information office stated.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation by the state fire marshal’s office.

This incident leads to the second candle to be extinguished on the “Keep Your Holidays Bright” fire safety tree, which is located in the Santa Rosa County Administration Complex.

Emergency service agencies have teamed up for the “Keep Your Holidays Bright” campaign which promotes fire safety throughout the month of December.

Each time firefighters respond to a working residential fire or a large wildfire causing fire damage, an electric candleon the fire safety tree will be extinguished.

The first candle was extinguished earlier this week following a residential fire on Monday night at Astor Village. One resident was taken to a local hospital following the incident. The cause of the fire is also under investigation.
