Michael Vazquez (left), financial advisor with Edward Jones, and Roger Malone, Kiwanis past president, unloaded poinsettias for Kiwanis’ annual holiday fundraiser, Thursday. Penny Wilson, with Kiwanis, said she sells them door to door, going into bars and businesses who want to look festive. She said she sells quite a few to hospitals as well. The iconic holiday plants come from Young’s Plant Farm, according to the driver, Mike Ward. He said they’re particular about the cold; they’re kept on the truck right at 60 degrees.
