Central High starts season with a win

Central’s Tony McDonald instructs his varsity basketball players during a time-out Tuesday night as the Jaguars defeated Pensacola Christian School in their first regular season game74-63. The Jaguar win over the Crusaders was McDonald’s 706 win.

Central High led every quarter of their varsity boys’ basketball season opener against Pensacola Christian School.  The first quarter scoring spread 22-10 started the Jaguars off in the win.

The Jaguars were led by Chase Dixon’s 21 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assist and 5 steals. Dixon shot 75% from the free throw line.

Central’s Tristan Ellision added 13 points 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Senior Zac Wright shot 55 percent from the 3-point line, grabbed 10 rebounds, 2 assist, 1 steal and 10 points for the win.

Central shot 53% from the free throw line as a team in the 74-63 win.
