
Santa RosaCounty 4-H would like to congratulate the 2014 Marine Ecology Team Members who will travel to Ocala, FL on November 8th for the state competition. The Junior Team members include: Landyn Keeton, Cayden Smith, and Alexis Walls. The Intermediate Team includes: Makenna Carmichael, Kyle Caskey, Jr., and Lance Keeton. The Senior Team includes: Brandon Bradford, Katie Carmichael, Rachel Pollard, Jasmin Rhea and individual, Steven Holster.
During the State Competition, the youth will be tested over marine and coastal plant identification, marine invertebrate animal identification, marine vertebrate animal identification, a Natural History Scavenger Hunt, as well as general knowledge of marine concepts and issues. The youth have worked closely with IFAS Extension Sea Grant Agent, Chris Verlinde, to prime themselves for the competition. The youth have spent several months preparing for the competition and we would like to wish them the best of luck.
