Florida Highway Patrol reports a fatal accident involving a bicyclist traveling on SR-30 paved shoulder and an automobile heading west on U.S. 98. Reports said Arian James, 38, Navarre drifted out of the westbound right lane and began traveling west on the shoulder. The front of James’ vehicle hit the bicyclist Lawrence F. Anderson, 73, Conroe, Texas and traveled over him and continued in a northwesterly direction. James drifted off the westbound paved shoulder and traveled over the grass island separating the SR-30 westbound travel lanes and the State Road 87 southbound lane exit ramp, reports said. James came to a final rest after crossing a drainage ditch and hit a tree. Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene.
